On completion of decommissioning, a Post Decommissioning Report is prepared containing:
- Description of the facility and decommissioning objectives
- Decommissioning tasks undertaken
- Significant issues (legislation, programme, organisation, management, regulatory)
- Radiological criteria used for removal from regulatory control
- Inventory of radioactive materials produced and their present location
- Summary of abnormal events or problems
- Summary of occupational and public doses
- Results of the final radiation survey
- Lessons learned
Full decommissioning records should be retained for a period of 30 years from project completion.
